The historic Hartley Elementary School is a single story, 54,000 square foot facility with almost 500 students that celebrated its 50th Anniversary a few years ago.

The Bibb County School District planned the renovations of this school for the summer of 2019. Work began as soon as classes were out and finished the last week of July 2019. The renovations and upgrades provided many needed upgrades throughout the facility, including to the media center, administrative offices, restrooms and the front entryway.

The scope for this project included significant renovations to the described areas and included a new natural gas generator complete with all transfer switches and related wiring. Our team also tackled demolition, new flooring, polished concrete, painting, ceilings, drywall, doors and hardware, fire protection, plumbing, electrical and HVAC.

Ultimately, we were able to provide Hartley Elementary School with a brand new media center, security vestibule, and a new administrative area.

It was great to work with ICB this summer on [ this ] project. The construction of this project was completed over the 2019 summer school break and ICB’s Project team worked closely with the school staff to ensure a seamless exit and return of the staff for the school year. I would recommend ICB without hesitation, especially for challenging projects that require a higher level of performance from the CM/GC.
